What Black Forest Labs announced
On 15 Oct 2026, Black Forest Labs released FLUX 3 Image Klein — open image model for ordinary graphics cards for image work. Open image generation from Black Forest Labs — check the licence on the provider page before client work.
Reporting on Black Forest Labs’ release describes FLUX 3 Image Klein as a 5.6 billion-parameter image model with native 4K output and up to 10 reference images, with an INT8 version (a smaller, faster number format) reported to run on NVIDIA cards with 8 GB of VRAM (video memory), and API pricing reported at $0.009 per 1,000 images. Its weights use the FLUX Kommunity License, which is reported to allow free commercial use for businesses with annual revenue below $5 million. Check the licence on the official page for your own revenue band before client work — downloadable weights do not automatically mean unrestricted commercial use.
What it costs, and who can use it today
Price: Not published in the sources checked — check the official website. Access: Open-weight. Availability: Released 15 Oct 2026, open. A token, where prices are per million tokens, is roughly part of a word; prices are per million tokens processed, not per message. Open-weight means downloadable weights — check the licence for commercial use, because downloadable does not automatically mean unrestricted.
Why it matters
